Are you all ready to stroll again through one of my local neighborhoods? It's a long walk so you'll need your favorite tenni shoes.
Oh and
lets grab a latte because this IS the coffee capitol of the country *winks* And it's a little chilly outside so the cup will warm your hands.
Come on I'll show ya some cool homes!
Starting with this brick colonial beauty. Not too big and not too small...but is it just right?
Or how about this trio of Victorians? Aren't they cute?! And so well kept. I wouldn't want to be the neighbor who didn't keep up with the maintenance....Quelle pressure! Lol!
I really like this stately white Georgian colonial style house.
And it even has one of the things I long for....A guest house! Nice size too *winks*
Or how about this neighborhoods version of a fixer upper? This Spanish style house has lots of potential. I'm thinking maybe a little round awning above the balcony door, maybe some flowers trailing off the balcony...and.....
I think I'd paint the door black. Paint the detail (above the door) and detail pieces on the front of the house a darker shade to highlight them. Add some flower pots next to the door and clean up the landscaping. How about you? What changes would you make? (If any) I really love that swagged detail above the door and the arched entry.
This brick house is large at over 7000 sq ft or for my European readers 659 sq metres. It has lovely statues of angels in front, as well as dual urn fountains and ponds on each side of the door. They make lovely noise. Cost about 1.5 million.
Close up on one of the angels.
And from the side.
I really like this Spanish style house on a hill, but getting down that hill in the snow would NOT be happening!...Come to think of it that's not a bad thing *winks*
Can't go wrong with this classic baby! Big and so friendly! Grandma's perfect home don'tcha think?
This one's a little "fairy tale"
Hansel and Gretel could live here.
Something in salmon perhaps?
Or a larger Tudor?
Or something tall and skinny?
I promised you a house tour and this Georgian colonial mansion is a beauty! It was built in 1905, has 8 bedrooms and 6.25 bathrooms and it can be yours for $1,350,000.
Please overlook the furniture and decor in this house and instead focus on the architectural details. There are some really lovely ones.
This is the entry with a really pretty staircase and lots of nice mouldings. Beautiful ceiling too.
A nice fireplace to warm the entry and welcome guests. (There are 6 total)
To the right is the gentleman's parlor and dining room.
Another nice fireplace. I like the column detail.
And to the left is the ladies parlor. It has beautiful grand gilt mirrors as well as a wonderful circular window seat. I think it's the prettiest room in the house.
The ceilings are 10'
Can you see the window seat now?
Very pretty from this side with so much light and the view into the gentleman's parlor. Oooooh I could have so much fun decorating this house!
Nice large kitchen with a commercial style wolf range and stainless counter tops. I think it works well with the age of the house.
And the master suite which appears to be long and narrow with nice arched ceilings, and again has so much potential!
And yet another area for relaxing in front of a cosy fire. Hmmm for me I think that wallpaper would have to go, but maybe I could work with it..... I loathe removing wallpaper!
And the view from the balcony of the water and surrounding mountains.
So that's it for the house tour.
I'd love to own this house! Would you?
How do the prices compare to those in your part of the world?
Our housing market is way down so this is a great time to fetch a deal!
As for my favorites I have two. This gorgeous brick mansion is wonderful! But not currently for sale alas.
And I know you'll be completely underwhelmed by my other favorite....this sweet Italianate house that just called to me...I've never seen another like it around here, and I love the Juliet balcony! I think this house would be just right for me!
So thank you for joining me on this (not so little) stroll.
I hope you saw something you liked?
And I hope you'll come back on Wednesday for more Flea Market Finds!
I have some sweet new things to show ya!
And if it wouldn't be too much trouble would you leave me a comment?
I LOVE to hear from you!
Vanna

Oh Vanna, I hope to persuade the mister we need to buy the beautiful Colonial, just think we could be neighbors! Wow one of my favorite styles. I could be very happy in the Hansel and Gretel home too. Vanna you live in such a beautiful neighborhood that I'm sure you can't wait to get out the door everyday for a walk. Thanks for taking us along, I enjoyed your tour!

I love all the houses, but especially Colonial Mansion, Vanna. It is loaded with such beautiful detail (and I tried not to look at the furnishings - ugh)The price seems pretty reasonable if it is a desireable community, considering that I've seen way less go for way more. If this were Gates Mills or Hunting Valley, Ohio, it would be a deal. I so love seeing houses from different parts of the country. I was just in New Jersey and went to Cape May and Ocean Grove. Loaded with Victorians, both places. And by the Ocean. . . my idea of paradise.
GIrl I am lovin that walk around the hood
The Georgian colonial this walk is my favorite I always had a dream of living in a house like this.
I know where you can buy a Itailanate for $395,000. so come on over to Missouri and live on the banks of the Mississippi River to Louisiana Missouri.
This was fun
Indeed, that was nice tour. Seeing how we pay over $1000 US for rent in what most Americans would consider an oversized linen closet, being a homeowner in Tokyo is out of the question.
You would love the houses around North Tacoma as well, I loved walking around there and just looking at the houses.

Loved the tour Vanna....I loved the victorians...soooo pretty! And the last one too, though I may have to add shutters or some kind of detail to the outside!
Love'em!

Chere Vanna,

I have been looking forward to your house tour part deux and it didn't disappoint! The last house is so unique and adorable I can see why it "called to you".
Thanks for another great post,
Alicia
Wonderful tour -- I am a total house voyeur! Where is this neighborhood? Around here, in the NYC suburbs, the prices would be a bargain, even considering the slump in the R.E. market.
Beautiful. I always think of those big gorgeous houses as "places I'd like to live when I grow up." Haha!
Cass
very nice indeed! i love the victorian houses! and those angle statues! wonderful! i think victorian style and all the other styles should be present more vivid nowadays too!
Well Ms. Vanna, I am so glad you took us on another wonderful tour. i love the houses, especially the one that is for sale, with the columns. I love the big gold mirror over the fireplace. I wish I could come to the estate sale. You are right, the furniture is not the best. I can see how you could make it wonderful.Wouldn't it be fun. Thanks for sharing and we will see you soon. Richard and Sissy Dog from My Old Historic House.
I think I would be in awesome shape if I had a "hood" like this to do my walking!!! What a lovely enjoyable exercise it would be strolling past all these wonderful homes taking in different details each day that I walk past them!
Oh Vanna I can see the home tour house in my mind with all your pretty finds and gorgeous furnishings in it. I think you need to make an offer!!!:)

Hey Vanna!
I know, I know, it's been a long time. Trying to catch up with everyone.
Love the hood! LOVE the georgian mansion! Although it's too much house. If only they could shrink it down. My second fav is the brick manor with the statuary...WOW!
Thanks for the tour!

Vanna - Again you have reminded me how much I love and enjoy this city..... of destiny - Debby
Debby we're very lucky to live with so much beauty around us aren't we? I'm looking forward to many more walks around the neighborhood *winks* Vanna
Bonjour Vanna
I never get tired of walking in your neighborhoods. I really enjoyed the tour :)
Love the outside of the first one...so well kept!
Gorgeous houses!!! Hope it won't rain again at your place so you may do others great shots :DDD
A bientôt,
Joëlle
I like the Spanish style ones and the Tudors. I like your tours very much too.
Vanna, you live in the most magnificent neighborhood! I have always had a heart for vintage tudors, but I adore your little Italian one too..
I have really enjoyed these walks, wish I was really there!
Hi Vanna,
Thanks so much for the tour. They were all sooo beautiful! And how come we love the same house the best?!? That one is JUST RIGHT!
Don't forget to link it up!
Hugs and Happy,
Patti
Vanna,
I must whole heartily concur with you on the last house. I could see “ME” happily living a bohemian life of art and literature with in its wall. Wonderful !!! - gary
Dang you live by some awesome homes! Love the interior of the home so gorg that window seat is to die for. The arcetecture is so brillant! Thanks for the tour, im really enjoying these. Hugs, Pearl
What fabulous homes your neighborhood has! I just love old architecture. Newer homes just don't compare in any way!
Thanks for the tour. So many beautiful old homes. At one time would loved to live in one like the colonial, but now I would not want the upkeep on most of them. As a matter of fact - I am tired of the upkeep where I am. :D
Vanna,
I am SOOOO in love with these posts. They're like living a little fantasy without leaving my room haha! Like always, I prefer the grandest of all, the Georgian colonial in white please and thank you! And you are completely invited over when I move in by the way ;)
I asked my hubby if we could move...that a friend found some beautiful homes and I know one might be just right for us! He said Wake up Mate...you are still dreaming! If I could only stay in this dream!!!
Lovely tour...
Is this in your neighborhood, Vanna? I love the houses! I love the one where you toured us inside....Christine
