Howdy y'all!
It's that time again.....Time for......
FLEA MARKET FINDS!!!
Yay whoohoo yippee!....Whoop-ti-do!!
That's about as exciting as it's gonna get because I had another completely unmotivated shopping week. I only made two stops. One at the Goodwill and another to one of my favorite shopping destinations..... Centralia Washington.
I think I'm feeling a little blue about the end of summer. We barely had one this year......But enough sorry moaning about that. On to the finds....
I'll start as usual with my favorite find, beginning with this 10' pair of antique columns from Centralia for $120. They're the perfect worn shabby chippy gray. I placed them in my small home gym. Now I just need some wonderful capitals to top them so I'll be on the hunt. Wish me luck! *winks*And if you happen to come across some come get me OK?
Formerly I had this French armoire in this spot. But when I moved it to my closet HERE I needed something to fill the space so I found this vintage credenza at the Goodwill for $7.99 and placed the large mirror on top. This is all temporary as there will be a large screen TV going up in December..... (Christmas pressie to ourselves) Hopefully that will motivate me to get off my bum and move!... I have my fingers crossed!*winks* ?
Here's a close up. I'm thinking of adding some sconces to the columns. What do you think should I?
And from etsy I found this rare lingerie boudoir doll ($34.50) with a French silk face to add to my growing collection.
Isn't she in amazing condition for around 90 yrs old?
This sweet pair of Alexander Backer children were found in Centralia for a song. The urn the little girl is carrying had a broken handle on one side so the hubby drilled a hole in it and I added some roses to cover the break and.....voila! I like them even better!
This cute little boy gone fishin' was also an etsy find.
I've had this cool old cement grotto for awhile now and have been looking for the perfect figure to place in it. This statue of Mary was also an etsy find and a bargain basement price because her neck had been broken at one time. I fell in love with her sweet face.
Then I ran across this chippy cement statue of an angel at the Goodwill for $12 and thought it might be a better fit in size? What do you think? Should I just keep on looking? Neither is quite as tall as they probably should be.
This cherub sconce was found in Centralia.
And this large cherub topper was $2.99 at the Goodwill. I think I'll be painting it in gesso a la my friend Rosemary at Villa Barnes.
This mardi gras style mask was $1.99 at the Goodwill. I added it to my to my Jeanne D'arc bust. I love to decorate her for the holidays *winks*
A finally a few books at $1 each.
Well that's all for this week. I hope you'll leave me a comment and I'll do the same. I LOVE to hear from you!
And please come back next week for more flea market finds. I have a very special something to share with you. *winks*

You really did get a lot of treasures, Vanna. Those columns are awesome and that credenza was only $7.99? Wow! I love the Virgin Mary and I like it in the grotto...Christine
Hi Vanna! Another great haul my dear!
I love the doll, (when you need to get rid of over flow I'll gladly take some off your hands!!), everything really, ... oh, but the angel topper!
I am so drooling for that piece. And you are gessoing, too?! I am so behind the times, I have got to get myself going! Love all your finds.Have a great treasure hunting week!
Much love,
Patti
Hi Vanna!
Love the columns!
I have a gift for you that screamed your name when I saw her. Shoot me an email with your address and I'll send her your way. Or better yet, would love to meet-up with you in Centralia sometime. I've been itching to head up there again soon.
~Joyce
Bonjour Chere Vanna!
I love all of your lovely finds, but most of all, I love your JOIE DE VIVRE!
It is such a joy to visit you..
I think the "look" your lingerie doll is sending is priceless! Incredible condition for her age.
Have a marvelous day!

Your Mary is perfect. I've actually been looking for a like statue for some time to no avail. I like the angel, too, but I think Mary does it best! Thanks for linking up over at Club G.W. with Charm Bracelet Diva!
xoxo

Beautiful finds, Vanna!
Vanna, I can't believe you found the large cherub sconce for 2.99. I have been looking for similar for ages and always so $$$$. You just think you didn't have a good day. Love the armoire. I'm having a little fit when I see the French silk face doll. I love her and wow, what great condition she's in. The Alexander Backer children are a great find too. How smart you are to cover the damage on the girl........Sigh..........

The French Hutch
Love your columns and yes add the sconces it would really finish them off. Plus it’s really hard to find capitals I know since the husband collects them. Love your cement grotto too with Mary what a perfect pairing! I like Mary better in your grotto gives it more color and shows up better. You know for someone who only made two stops this week you really found a lot and at great prices, love all your cherubs!
Vanna,
Love all of your treasures that you found! Girl, we could go shopping together, we have the same taste!

Vanna,
I have come to the conclusion that you have stolen Harry Potter’s wand!!! How else are we to explain such wonderful find at even better prices??? OK, all jesting aside, let’s get down to this latest post.
Those columns! I weep. What a find, with or without capitols they were made for the credenza since your picture show the base of the columns match the height of the credenza, again I weep. And since you will be moving the mirror for a TV just send me the mirror (wink).
Now you and I both know that if you are asking the question about the figures for the grotto then we both know you want be happy till you find the “perfect fit”, well I guess I am projecting a little of my own self on that one (giggle). But that grotto is the boom. But no matter what the Mary will need a niche anyway, correct?
To keep from going in a volumous novel here, the other treasures you show are wondermas. – gary
Looks like you did pretty good to me. I like the statue of Mary in the grotto
Enjoy your day.
It's funny that your unmotivated shopping resulted in such great finds. The columns are fantastic. I think sconces would be a great addition. I had a pair of cherub sconces just like the one you found. Thanks for the mention. Sure, gesso it.
Well. well Ms. V. You never seem to surprise me with your wonderful shopping finds. As usual you have found the best stuff and even better prices. I just don't know how you do it. I go to good will, once a year, and there is nothing there except a coffee pot with no lid and it is priced$5.00. Of course I have to drive an hour or hour and i/2 to even get to one. I go to yard sales and all I find is baby stuff. I think you do have the Harry potter magic, I wish I could shop with you. That new doll is most unique and another first for me, as I have never seen another. You have fun shopping, save some money as I have a porcelain statue of a cow with 3 nude
women I am going to temp you with. It is the bomb. Have a great weekend and drop by and see me. Richard from My Old Historic House.
Hey there Miss Vanna! Are those columns made of zinc..they are very cool... If I had a special day for all my blogger friends and made everything 50% off would you come....you could buy pour tout les semaines du anne!

Hi Vanna, you manage to always snatch some great deals. The columns are fabulous..I'm wondering how you're going to work the t.v. into the wall and make it disappear, are you going to frame it in an antique frame, sink into the wall? Come on girl give.... hugs ~lynne~

Ah, sweet Mary...who I adore. My sister has a collection of Mary. That mask is so cool. Me and the girls really like masks. Jess brought me back one from New Orleans.
~Sheri at Red Rose Alley
what a pretty blog you have. Love the vintage Mary statue and grotto.
New follower :)
V, Your idea of not finding many treasures is a lot different from my idea of that. You are amazing and what a wide variety of beauties, from columns to the Virgin Mary and a Mardi Gras mask! Leave it to Vanna! Love that grotto, no matter what you put in it. I've added "going shopping with Vanna" to my bucket list. laurie
Really like your new columns...they look great flanking this space...the idea of fitting them with sconces is interesting, too. If I don't find the perfect spot for something right away, I find that if I just leave it be for a while, it will eventually "tell" me where it wants to be. So maybe let them rest here for awhile until they let you know.
Jermaine
God I Hope I look as good in the face as that Boudoir Doll when I reach 90?! *winks* And I'm adoring your Madonna Statue, the Rosary looks perfect draped on her. As always you 'score' great Treasures... I'll keep my Junquing Eyes peeled for Capitals for your amazing Columns.
Just did a Post featuring a Stuffed Glam Goose I fell in Love with... Loved the Attitude in the face of her, alas, the budget did not permit a purchase. *Le Sigh*... and I'm fairly certain she will be adopted by some other lucky Junquer before I saved up enough for my adoption papers?! *winks & a sob* Ah, well, whaddya gonna do... I can't have it ALL... though I often do want it all! *Smiles* Still Hoping one day to score a Stuffed Peacock... The Man thinks its a crazy thing for the Wish List... this coming from a Man that Hunts often & has a Bro who is a Taxidermist & has stuffed everything you could think of!!! Why is it that Guys think a Hunting Trophy is a normal thing to stuff & keep around the House... but something like a Peacock is weird to desire in a vignette??? *Winks*

Hi Girlfriend...
Oooh...what fabulous treasure finds, Vanna!!! Ohhh...I love the chippy gray columns...GORGEOUS! I think sconces would be very pretty on top of those beauties! I love your little credenza...can't believe that you only give $7.99 for that piece...what a bargain find! And of course...I just adore how you have decorated that entire area since moving your armoire to the closet! I just love coming to your place, dear friend...you have soooo many pretties!!!
