Flea Market Finds Pour La Dix-Septième Semaine

Bonjour mes amis!
It's that time of the week once again for Flea Market Finds! Yahoo!!

The pickin's were kind of sorry last week, but I managed to find a few good treasures. I'll start with my favorite, a vintage Louis XVI style bed with barbola swags. It needs to be tightened up a little (A job for the hubbs) and has some slight damage to the ribbon detailing at the top but at $90 it was too cute for me to pass up...... I probably should have because I need another bed about as much as I need another hole in my head! LOL!
Isn't it sweet? I'm wondering about white washing it a little. What do you think?

Perfectly shabby!

And this large vintage tapestry/rug for my soon to be etsy shop featuring courting couples.....
I love her pretty face. Is he puckering up? *winks*

Cavorting cherubs.....

And a folly!

My theme for the week was "barbola" because in addition to the bed, I also found this wonderful antique barbola adorned jewelry box for $10.99 at the Value Village. I'm thinking about painting the flowers?
A folding screen in pink gingham for $4.99 at the Goodwill.
A chippy framed frenchy picture and and a chippy plaster display bowl also for etsy.

And a couple of wonderful additions to my boudoir doll collection.

A vintage roll of wallpaper from Sears for $6.

With cute roses.
A pink gauzy blouse from the Goodwill for $3 at half price.

And lastly some sprays of faux roses for 50 cents.

Well that's all for this week.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll leave me a comment. I'd love to hear from you! And I hope you'll come back next week for more flea market finds.

Looks like you did pretty good to me.
I almost went to an estate sale last weekend, but glad I did not as the weather got bad. Also, I am still trying to stay on my shopping diet. :D
Enjoy your evening.

Vanna you have found some great finds for it being a "sorry Pickins week!"

That little blouse is so sweet! I love the bed just as is. I know the painted look is so in right now but I wonder how many will regret painting great pieces like this soon.

Recouping from the weekend which turned out great but got the fibro flared up afterwards. It always happens and so is a good excuse to veg afterwards!

LOVE the bed and tapesty *swooning*, great 'scores'!!!

Alas I will have to refrain from any Treasure Hunting over the Summer since there is no budget for it *sob*... but I suppose that will give me more time to work on catching up on the bag orders that have piled up. Arthritis and G-Kid distractions are a whole other challenge to work around though! *le sigh* But I can window shop via the Land Of Blog and live vicariously through the purchases of all my Blog Buddies... *winks*

Something about Vanna! You sure go straight for the great finds, week after week. I should be so lucky......
I love your french bed with the floral swag. I think it would be more beautiful than ever with your idea of a white wash. Be sure to share the after, and while your at it a tutorial would be helpful to most of us......

I'm in total agreement with you Vanna about picking up our Treasures secondhand where we get the deep discount after someone else has grown bored with it all after having paid retail! *winks* But I must confess... I should have been born rich because I do love to Shop! *LOL* And I'm still smiling about the undie comment... *winks*

Vanna... thanks for stopping by, yes, I'm mos def a Hoarder of beautiful things too so I have to edit & purge annually & have thought about the Show Circuit to perhaps unload some lovelies??? Maybe if The Man scores me a Gypsy Mobile Studio I can consider that option... mixing biz and pleasure while minimizing.

No... didn't have to kick bum... when they realized I was ready for battle... everything just lined up in my favor, which was a good thing because I was ready to go straight Apache on them. *Winks* I usually try to be nice until someone gives me sufficient reason not to be... and then I go completely sideways and out of the bag... Prince R really isn't doing much better, but at least now they're dealing with him more effectively. *whew*

Have a wonderful Holiday Weekend... Dawn... The Bohemian

Vanna, the bed ends are gorgeous! Whitewashed would be nice and it wouldn't take too much to fix the ribbon. I love tapestries too, they tell so many stories. I have never come across an old one; peeps just won't part with them!

Are you kidding Me???? What do you mean the pickins' were slim. I think you got a a haul's worth ...oh say...about 6 months worth of treasure hunting. Why that bed alone.....is the find of the century. :) xo

Susan said...

All your finds are so awesome! I love the vintage wall paper, the box and the gauzy pink blouse!

Love that bed, you have the best taste! Of course that is the kind of stuff I adore.

Oh YES Vanna, it did help ever so much being around good Friends and surrounded by beautiful things to photograph and lose myself in... I find that the Thrill Of The Hunt, even when I'm just seeking something to photograph and not necessarily buy, calms my Spirit and takes me 'away' for a while...

Thanks for your sweet words... I'm doing better today though it will take a while to transition and get used to Rat Boy's absence... 20+ years is a very long time and a huge part of our lives... at this Season of Life I seriously doubt that I will ever have another Fur Baby for such a length of time together...

Hugs... Dawn... The Bohemian
