One Room I Will NEVER Post On Rate My Space......Hubbys MANCAVE!!
Pssssst!! Hey everybody! Would you like to follow me into the mysterious inner sanctum of my hubby?.......The MANCAVE? I have to warn you that there will be nudity, taxidermy and danger! (yes I know it's already too late you see a bum shot!) Hence the "NEVER post on RMS! So if you find these things objectionable? Beter not look! Ok that said, this is the one room in our home that hubby got to decorate all by himself (Well the garage too, but since it's stacked to the ceiling with my stuff it doesn't count *winks*) He's at work right now so I thought I'd sneak y'all in for a sneaky peeky *winks*
This is the front of the nekkid lady. She's lifesize and was once a lighting fixture(one of many) in a french art deco theatre. She is my hubbys pride and joy.
Haven't you heard that "every room needs a little leopard"? Well in hubbys case that equals...... little leopard! His name is Lawson and he's our literary leopard! He's resting on a marble commode that houses a refrigerator and stereo equipment. Making it possible for hubby to withdraw from the world (aka me!) for days at a time......OK I admit I'm exaggerating......but he has been know to dissapear for hours at a time!
What might a leopard be looking at? What else but GIRLS!!! Of course! ....Silly men!!
This secretary was a craigslist find for $200 and houses hubbys computer. The top drawer opens, folds down and hides the keyboard.

Some of hubbys pretties....Hmmmmmm that doesn't sound very manly does it? Let me try again.....Some of hubbys manly pretties! Lol!!
On the left side of the desk is a set of bookcases found at an auction for $95 for the pair!
I only included this shot to show y'all the corner cabinet. It's from Belgium and it's my favorite piece in the room *winks*
Desktop
One of hubbys smaller nude pieces. This one is dated 1912 and was a giveaway piece from a poultry company! Hmmmmmm what a strange choice but.......

Vanna, I LOVE it. Even your man's mancave is fabulous. You've given me an idea, I've been afraid to post DH's special room on Micasa or RMS, it's so NOT decorated. But I could post it on my blog and only people who know me (so to speak) could see it. What a fab idea. Thanks! Kathy

Hi Vanna...Hey, your hubby's mancave is really nice! And...his desk is really neat!! Better than mine.I see a little guy relaxing on the floor in there in the next room. It's nice that you are married to another collector, because he should understand. Great idea to post rooms here instead of rms...Debbie
Ha! You little cheater you! I knew when we were discussing mancaves once..that yours would look FABULOUS!! :-))
Actually..this mancave is VERY cool looking!! Love the art deco nudes! Am definitely going to be showing DH YOUR DH's trophy animals! :-)
I see your signature in this room just a weeeeee little bit with the LV! Oh and I love that phone on the desk! This is one heck of a magnificant mancave! I LOVE IT!! L~
LOL! Vanna, thanks for finally sharing the mancave. It's the most glamorous and elegant mancave that I have ever seen. Love all the cabinets, book cases and even the nudies!....Christine
Wow!!! It is quite unusual and beautiful too!
Vanna, sweetie, now I am still just stunned, this fabulous room is so far from the mancave in my mind! Talk about elegant, well appointed, unique, my goodness I am so impressed. You two are the most talented twosome I have ever seen! You just continue to amaze me, what a joy! Love, Cindy
Wow Vanna- How did your hubby get such great taste!!! I can see why he would want to be in his man cave for hours and hours! I have been wanting to get DH's office finished but he's afraid to let me go through all those boxes and boxes!
Blessings
mary
Gloria and Debbie that white blob of fur is my now not so little puppy Luca. He is now quite large and weighs 58 lbs! I swear he was a little puppy only 10 minutes ago!
Laura DH is more LV crazy than I am! He says it's because he's japanese and it's imprinted on his genes!(the japanese are BY FAR the largest buyers of LV *winks*)
Thanks Christine and Cindy! (((hugs))) VB
Oh this is to cool Vanna, everything!, what a neat mancave, no wonder your hubby likes to spend a lot of time there, all the art pieces are unique and wonderful (even the lady whose leg comes off!) the garbage trucks are excellent lol, Thanks for the tour and I won't say anything to your hubby, I won't say anything to my hubby either or he will want nekkid ladies in his study. (which I am going to call his mancave from now on). hugs, Kathy.
Vanna, I'm in awe..during many discussions of mancaves you led us completley down the wrong path girlfriend.. However, I expected nothing but the best from you. And you certainly delivered. This room totally rocks!! Full of class and design and lots of whimsy.. I really enjoyed that he likes collecting as much as you do.. what fun you must have when you're out on the hunt for that something special..This was just totally awesome...hugs ~lynne~
Vanna~ this is the most amazing mancave I have ever seen! It's spectacular! I love your Craigslist find, too. I can't drag myself away from CL now, I check it twice a day....lol. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs~ J
Wowzer Vanna , he really did a great job decorating his own cave ! Love how the bear rug is situated . And I sure wish I had a clock like the one you gave him .
Love your auction find legal cases, especially the design over the glass front. That desk pen-holder is pretty unusual, don't think I've seen one like it before.
Looks like that bird perched on your old style (antique?) fan is getting ready to swoop down. Glad you have it out of reach of small hands with it's open design.
I can tell your DH really enjoys his mancave. I enjoyed this post very much.
Vanna you are so funny! I love all your words! I sure wish I could meet you in person- you are just such a hoot (thats a compliment!)
Thanks for your comments about my bedroom- it's my "wanna be Vanna bedroom"
And girl what are you doing up so late? It's 1:30 here and it's howling up a storm - there is something about wind and me now sleeping- so I'm up surfing and trying to get so sleepy it wont matter how windy it is-
blessings
mary
We have a 30 percent chance of snow tomorrow so maybe this wind is bringing something in.
Tonight DH and I went to a concert that was performed in an old Catholic Church. Oh it was a beautiful building and the accoustics were wonderful! It was a choral group from the community college but my they were wonderful and had a wonderful orchestra also. I just felt I had gone to heaven right then and there!
Living in a small rural community does not leave you with lots of opportunity for things like this so this was a real treat for me!
Hey Girlfriend...
Mancave...HUH!!! Well all I can say is...that I'd just love to spend time in this fabulous office too!!! My honey's mancave is full of camaros and car parts...tools...etc...wanna trade? hehehe!!! Well my friend, this office is absolutely fabulous and once again, I could spend hours in here just looking...and looking!!! And...I love that beautiful bear rug under the desk!!! I'm so glad to finally get a peek at the "mancave" that we heard so much about!!! Hehe!!!
Have a wonderful weekend Sweetie...
Love ya,
Chari
PS...so did you get any snow?
Okay, I thought we were talking about some tacky man room. This is gorgeous! So elegant (sorry Vanna's dh-you may not have been going for elegant). What wonderful collections! I'm so glad to finally get to see this infamous room! laurie
Well, I have finally seen the mancave and it's lovely as I knew it would be. vb, I could show you a mancave you would not beleive. vickydarnell
Mornin' Vanna! I could crawl into that mancave and never come out. At least until Spring for sure. It is so warm and cozy and lived in and unique ... thanks for showing it to all of us.
Vanna, so many neat things to look at. Your DH's mancave is just as gorgeous and unique as the rest of your wonderful home. Love all of it. Hugs, Marty
Awww thanks Marty!! Vanna
Very classy man cave. I gotta give it to your hubby...he did GOOD!
that is the neatest mancave I have ever seen!
Do not come to my house! LOL
Oh, Vanna, this is superb, so intricate and whimsical. It looks like the room of an archeologist (who used to have tea with Princess Di--not that Di was into archeology, she just loved coming over to visit). Come over and get your dish addict award. :-)
Well actually a very cool Man Cave, I like alot of the antique pieces in there. All goes so well together.
As for me, the Man Cave here is our family room and I have to contend with baseball things, especially a large collection of Bobbleheads in there. I would rather have the neked ladies!LOL
Linda
Hi Vanna, we must be neighbors, this is Snohomish, wa. I live in Marysville. Where do you live? Go to the tour today. Unless the snow is too much. There are at least 3 houses you should see. I was taking my mom on a blog tour, she almost gasp when she saw your husbands nudies. lol. I told her it was a man's cave... we both laughed. Lucky man. quite the collection. mishelle
Hi Vanna...even hubby's mancave is FABULOUS! However, I won't let my DH see this for fear he'll want his own room...There are some awesome furniture pieces in there..
and nekkid ladies too...LOL ;-) Bo
Hi Vanna,
I have passed on the Christmas Spirit award to you!olorthr When you have a minute come by.
I love this room, just like I love all of your rooms. The ladies are beautiful works of art and very tasteful. It is amazing to me how you can have so many beautiful displays of your collections and it never looks cluttered just looks beautiful. It looks like Hubby has picked up your amazing taste through osmosis.I loved this room, my favorite is the girl dipping her toe in the water. Hugs Kathysue
I LOVE that Craigs list secretary! What a bargain that was! I'd give alot to find one like that! Have a great holiday!
Vanna,
This room is great - I love all the deco touches, and the little letter opener is just fantastic!
Artie
Hello Vanna, My first time visiting your lovely blog. Let me just say, your man has lot's of style. The so called mancave is very stylish and sophisticated, heck even I would lose hours in the day just hanging out in such a room.
Kris
Vanna, hey, had to come back and look further down your blog posts. Wow, ok girl, I am going hunting with you, you find great things!
Yes, I think an area bloggers luncheon would be fun. We could maybe do it in a central place like Country Village in Woodenville or Snohomish even and maybe draw the ladies from down that way too. Maybe that would be fun for like Valentines. Keep in touch I am game. Oh, you asked, Christmas tour in Snohomish was just today, 12-4. They do a Fall tour, a Summer garden tour and then this one. They are all fun but I just love the Christmas time one the best I think.
Oh sweet Vanna I get such a big chuckle every time you come by!! And it looks like we are up a little past our bed time- at least I am - it's almost 12 here and I promised DH I would be up shortly- at least 30 minutes ago!!
Blessings-
Mary
Hurray! I just found your blog! I've been a big fan of yours on RMS and am thrilled to see you started a blog!
I LOVE your decor--your hubby's office is amazing--hope you post more home pics!
I'll be back!

What a fun room...the letter opener is a little scary but fun.
Have fun playing in the snow. I wish we would get some
Good morning sweetie..had to swing in and see this beautiful room again. You must share what kind of camera you have. I'm going to "have" to get one and your pictures are "always" fantastic. When you get a moment swing by my place I have something for you..
hugs ~lynne~
Vanna. You're Tagged. Please come by and get the info. But,it's Christmas, everybody is so busy.If you want to wait until after Christmas,do,ok....ANNIEPOO
Wow! What a man cave! It's very interesting and beautiful too! Do you have a sign that says "No kids aloud" HE HE! My son would be laughing and snickering like crazy! We went in Victoria's Secret the other day and we just had to leave because he could not stop laughing and pointing. I decided I better not take him in there again! LOL! I really do love the room, it's very classy and manly at the same time. Your hubby has great taste! Kristen
Oh my gosh you are a hoot!!Gotta love that letter opener!!I am alarmed though... I see no crown, I know its a man room but still....
hahaha "manly pretties"! He's got definitive tastes...nekky women, a 'wild' streak, and a toy collection. Now that speaks volumes. Should I wonder what he does for hours on end? hehehe Honestly, the room reminds me of old English huntsman with a twist. He's got flair...I mean style!!! In all sincerety, I totally loved the tour.
Too cute...what a man CAVE! Love love love the Secretary (great buy$$cha ching!)I won't even go there on the nuddies....he he.
Love it
Lisa
Vanna! I'm catching up on my blogs and I just laughed when I read this one. What is with the nekkid ladies? Oh well, to each his own. LOL! I have to admit I love the letter opener. Hehe!
That is one gorgeous room! Mancave or not! He has some really unique pieces but yet all together make up one elegant space. I love all his nudes even the letter opener (after I got over the initial shock!)and the fact he has his dumptruck collection was just so endearing! If he's gotta have them, then that's the way to display them in that gorgeous case!
His room definitely fits in with your style in your lovely home. It's very refined - You got lucky! ;) ~ Laurie
Vanna,
LOVE this room! I'll never, never tell, but this is a great man cave. When I did interior design I loved doing "manly" spaces...so fun.
You have a happy husband, I can tell.:)
xo Lidy
Fantastic Man room!! Okay the leg coming off is kind of creepy but everything else is cool. A man needs a place to get away and get off our nerves!! I'll be glad when the Lord sends me a good man to send to his mancave and get off my nerves!!! Great Blog!!
What a GREAT ManCave! And I'm so glad he's in touch with his Feminine Side.....all his "pretties" are lovely! Except, for perhaps when the Ladies leg comes off and leaves her laying like a Hatchett Victim. That's such a interesting peice...I see why ya'll just had to have it! Blessings to you and hubby!
Whoo, hoo...we got to go into the inner sanctum! Don't worry, I brought along a cloth and wiped down everything we touched...no fingerprints to prove we were there! That is a manly room...loved it! Your DH has excellent taste! My favorite thing was his comfy leather chair...love that look of the leather when it gets a little crinkley. :-)
What an amazing collection! Where do you find all this wonderful stuff?!
That is a very nice man cave.
Debbie
"Man Cave" was a term invented by the HGTV network. Find out the real deal at www.themantuary.com

That is soooo EFFIN' COOL! Even the macabre taxidermy!
I think my French leather bergere is related to your husband's office chair. Of course we'll need a paternity test to verify.
